May Jersey of the Month: Dingelstädt Spiders Dart claim the title

The voting for the Jersey of the Month developed into a real head-to-head race in May. Until the very end, it was completely open which team would come out on top. In the end, only a few percentage points decided the victory, allowing the Dingelstädt Spiders Dart to narrowly secure the monthly title.

The jerseys of the following clubs were up for selection:

Dingelstädt Spiders Dart
SC Lehr Handball
RheinKnie Rangers

A total of 263 votes were cast. Even before the voting, the handball players of SC Lehr had a feeling that it would be a close contest. "Tough competition, they're all amazing," the club wrote on Instagram. And the club from Baden-Württemberg was proven right:

49% voted for the Spiders, closely followed by SC Lehr Handball with 43%. The RheinKnie Rangers came in third, receiving 9% of the votes.

The success not only earns the Dingelstädt Spiders a €100 voucher, but also a place in our Hall of Fame. All winning jerseys are collected there – perfect for anyone looking for inspiration for their own club design.

Spized jersey designer celebrates an "incredibly well-executed" design

"What a beautiful jersey! The core idea is immediately understandable. The design is brilliantly executed, the colors are very striking, and it makes sense both front and back. The whole design screams darts jersey. I especially like the sleeves with these large, blocky green areas," says Max Gillmeier, Art Director Jersey Design at spized: "The spider is fantastically executed, and the back is very well balanced. All in all, an incredibly well-designed jersey."

Dingelstädt Spiders in the club profile

The Dingelstädt Spiders are the darts division of SV 1911 Dingelstädt – a multi-sport club from Dingelstädt in Thuringia. The club stands for passion, team spirit, and sporting diversity.

The darts section was founded on June 21, 2023. The club’s website states: "With the founding of the darts section 'Dingelstädt Spiders', the club has established a modern and rapidly growing sports department." Since their foundation, the "accurate spiders" have been competing in the Central German Steel Dart League (MDSL).

In the 2025/26 season, the Spiders finished sixth in the 1st District League Eichsfeld Thuringia (previous season: third place). In ten matches, the Dingelstädt team did not manage to secure a single win (one draw, nine losses). The second team of the Spiders also had to settle for sixth place in the 2nd District League Eichsfeld A Thuringia that season.

Darts has been growing in popularity in Germany for years. The most popular and probably best-known format is 501, in which each player starts with 501 points and reduces them through their throws. The goal is to reach exactly zero – the decisive final throw must land in a double segment. We have summarized all important darts rules here in detail for you.
