The DFB and kit supplier Adidas have obviously managed to convince the majority of fans of the bold design. One important factor was certainly the visual link between the colour pink and identification figures such as the national team players. A skilful marketing move in which the supposed "pink bias" was simply consistently ignored. The humorous response to criticism on social media also contributed to the success.
